No. When you tick Nature animals or the Tatars as the defender, the simulator fights them at base strength. Any village population, wall level, Hero, artefact or Blacksmith and Armoury upgrade you entered is ignored, and the Tatar garrison offers only the eight Tatar troop types. Player troops that reinforce a Tatar village keep their own upgrades, but they get no wall or population bonus there.
