Automatic mode chooses owned items with the least excess time, then the fewest item units, using at most 1,000 of each item type per confirmation. Any items beyond that stay in your bank. Manual mode uses exactly the quantities you select. Applied time never exceeds the queue's remaining duration, and any extra is shown as waste before confirmation.
