Village questions and answers
These are the published Village questions, with the answer under each one.
Can I have more than one settlement expansion in progress at once?
No. A player may have only one village-founding task in progress at a time. The current task must finish before another settlement can begin.
Does village allegiance recover by itself over time?
Regular villages do not gain allegiance from a passive timer. They recover it when a new Residence or Palace level completes. An owned oasis can recover allegiance when reinforcements arrive.
How many culture points are required to found a new village?
• Culture points are a requirement, not a payment: sending settlers does not deduct them. Each next village requires a higher threshold. • Thresholds for villages 2 through 50 follow the culture-point table, scaled by the world's base culture-point setting. • With the default base of 2000, the second village requires 2000 points, the third 8000, and the fourth 20000.
How many culture points do my buildings produce, and are they shared between villages?
Culture points are produced per day. Every building adds the culture points of its current level to its own village's daily rate, and higher levels add more. The Main Building is the exception: it adds only what its level gives above level 1, so a level 1 Main Building adds nothing. Each village collects its own culture points: to found a new village, the village that sends the settlers must have enough points by itself, and points in your other villages are not added. The Residence or Palace page shows this village's daily rate, the daily rate of all your villages, and this village's points.
How many new villages can one village found with settlers?
Each source village can found at most 2 child villages through settlers. Child oases do not count toward this limit.
How many settlers are required to found a new village?
You need exactly 3 settlers from your tribe's settlement unit.
How much allegiance does a Residence or Palace level restore?
Completing a Residence or Palace level adds 10 allegiance, capped at 100. Demolishing the building does not grant this increase.
What are the rules for renaming a village?
Only the account owner may rename a village they own; an account sitter cannot rename it. The name must be between 3 and 30 characters long.
What does a settler-founded village start with?
A new village founded by settlers starts as a regular village linked to the village that sent them, with 100 allegiance and a name based on your name and village count. What it starts with is a world setting: the same as a new player's first village, the plain default (a level 1 Main Building, 2 population and 2 culture points), or its own developed start. A developed start brings its buildings, resources and starting troops, with resource fields capped at level 10 as in every village other than the capital.
What happens to the old capital and its buildings when I change capital?
Before the new capital is assigned, old-capital buildings above their non-capital maximum are reduced to that maximum. Every old capital then becomes a regular village, and the selected village becomes the capital.
What is the resource cost of founding a village with settlers?
Founding the village costs 750 wood, 750 clay, 750 iron, and 750 wheat.
What roles can a village have?
A tile has one of 4 village types: regular, capital, oasis, or special. Holding an artefact does not create a fifth village type; the holder keeps its current village type.
Where is settler expansion forbidden?
Settlers can found a village only on a fully empty regular tile with no owner, garrison, settlement reservation, or other dependency. An exact foreign return movement anchored to a retired Artifact or Barbarian coordinate is the exception: it keeps travelling and does not block reservation or settler arrival. Any other source-side movement is rejected before resources or settlers are spent. If the target becomes unavailable while settlers travel and a source expansion slot remains, they return with the founding resources.
